In the first decade of August 2024, a block of questions focused on energy issues, including nuclear energy, was included in the Our Society panel survey.

More than three-fifths of citizens (63%) believe that the share of nuclear power in electricity generation should increase in the future, less than a quarter (22%) believe that the share of nuclear power should remain at current level, and more than a tenth (11%) believe that this share should decrease.

More than three-quarters (78%) of citizens agree with the construction of a new unit at the Dukovany NPP, while approximately one-sixth (16%) disagree.

Three-quarters majority (75%) have no (34%) or only minor (41%) concerns about the use of nuclear energy, 19% rate their concerns as moderate and 4% consider them major.

58% of citizens trust the government when making decisions about nuclear energy, while 38% do not trust the government in this regard.
