Shifts in voter support

Data show that the CSSD makes the best impression. It is most frequently perceived as a party that is trustworthy (40%) and beneficial to the country (45%), and less frequently as a party that is only interested in coming to power (57%). The CSSD and the ODS attract only a minimum of new supporters from other parties, relying primarily on the people who voted them in the last parliamentary elections (in both instances, over three fifths of current sympathisers also voted the respective party in 1998). They only find some new supporters among former non-voters and first-time voters.
