Social Policy

In November 2016 CVVM included in regular research questions on social policy. Questions investigated opinions of the czech public connected to the involvement of the state and the citizens themselves to funding the sphere of social policy. Other questions focused on whether the current distribution of responsibilities is divided equally between state and citizens. Finally, we were interested in opinion on the fair distribution of benefits and abuse of the social security system.

In February 2016 Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to family policy and the care of parliament about social situation of families.

In the November survey of the Public Opinion Research Centre included issues related to social policy. It surveyed citizens' views on that how much the individual areas of social policy are secured.

In November CVVM had been surveing how Czech citizens perceive pension system a its functioning. Respondents were questioned about their evaluation of the possible change of the system, whether it is plausible to change the system and what changes should be implemeted.

In its November survey the Center for Public Opinion Research focused on some issues related to the pension system and pension reform.

In November public opinion survey CVVM was interested, among other things, in how citizens perceive the Czech pension system, especially its sufficiency with regard to material security in retirement, and whether Czech citizens use the possibility of a commercial insurance. Respondents were asked whether they had been saving up money for retirement on top of the ongoing pension system guaranteed by the state, whether they are worried about insufficiency of financial security guaranteed by the state in retirement, and whether they are generally worried about financial problems during retirement.

November's survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic and its possible change. We asked a selected part of our respondents that are not yet retired, whether they use any form of savings or investments to put money aside for their retirement, whether they fear they might not be sufficiently secured when retired, and what are their expectations regarding the sufficiency of pensions paid by the state.

November survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic. 73% of citizens express opinion that the current pension system needs a change.

In the November research CVVM examined closely the views of citizens on the pension system and pension reform. This press release presents some of the general attitudes of people older than 15 years to the retirement system.
