The vast majority (85%) of the Czech public has never heard of CRISPR/Cas9.
Almost three-quarters (74%) of the Czech public agree that the CRISPR/Cas9 method can be used for therapeutic purposes, while the Czech public is least likely to accept the possibility of using the method to enhance athlete performance (77% disagree).
Similar proportions of those agreeing at the level of four-fifths expressed their agreement in the case of willingness to undergo modification of their own hereditary information using CRISPR/Cas9 to save their own life (81% yes, 10% no), to save or enable the life of their own child (81% yes, 11% no) and to help eliminate severe health problems (79% yes, 10% no).
