The Czech public mainly favorably evaluates the possibility to express themselves openly about problems and shortcomings in society, the possibility to influence the solution of local problems and the possibility to achieve their legitimate demands. The majority is skeptical about the possibility of influencing the solution of problems at the national level.
44% of Czechs rate the situation in the Czech Republic as good when it comes to freedom of speech, 22% perceive it as bad and 33% describe it as neither good nor bad.
37% of the Czech public think that the situation regarding freedom of speech has worsened in the last ten years, 22% speak of improvement and 38% think that it has not changed.
