Public Opinion on Values Applied in the European Union and European Integration

In April 2010 CVVM investigated, whether, according to Czech citizens, values such as democracy, equality, cooperation, toleration, justice and solidarity are applied in the European Union. The largest proportion of Czechs answered on this subject positively in connection with democracy and cooperation (75 % and 63 %) and by contrast equality obtained least agreeing answers (37 %). Besides this, Czechs evaluated helpfulness and harmfulness of European integration in these areas - economy, politics, culture, country defence and ecology.

Most of Czechs supposed that European integration is useful in the area of defence (72 %) and ecology (68 %), half of Czech citizens mean that this integration is useful in relation to economy.
