The Czech Republic's membership in the European Union through the eyes of the public – August 2025

Two-thirds (66%) of Czech citizens express satisfaction with the Czech Republic's membership in the European Union, while less than one-third (31%) are dissatisfied.
More than three-quarters of the public believe that European integration is beneficial in the areas of defense (78%) and culture (76%), while just under two-thirds have a positive view of the impact of European integration on the economy (62%). A majority view cooperation in the area of ecology positively (57%). The Czech public least often rated European integration as beneficial in the area of politics, where the proportions of positive and negative responses are almost equal (47% beneficial, 44% harmful).

In the Czech public's attitudes towards strengthening or weakening integration, the most common opinion was that the degree of European Union integration should remain approximately the same in the future as it is today (38%). The proportions of those who would favor strengthening it (27%) or weakening it (24%) are practically equal.
In the case of our country's future involvement in the EU, the opinion that it should be strengthened in the future slightly prevailed, with almost two-fifths of the public (39%) in favor, just under a third (32%) in favor of maintaining the current level of involvement, and more than a fifth (21%) wanting to weaken this involvement.
Currently, about two-thirds (66%) of Czech citizens disagree with the adoption of the euro as the currency of the Czech Republic, while three out of ten Czech citizens (30%) are in favor of adopting the euro.
Just under three-quarters of Czech citizens (74%) believe that the Czech Republic should be a member of the European Union. Almost a quarter of respondents (23%) expressed the opposite opinion.
