Dissolution of Czechoslovakia: 30 Years Since the Establishment of the Independent Czech and Slovak Republic

In its regular survey in Autumn 2022, Public Opinion Research Centre investigated public opinion regarding the dissolution of Czechoslovakia thirty years ago.

Compared to other historical events of the period since 1989, the dissolution of Czechoslovakia is perceived relatively the worst.

Today, half of the citizens (50%) consider this step correct, 39% evaluate it as incorrect. At the same moment the people who witnessed it perceive the dissolution of Czechoslovakia somewhat more critically in this regard.
