In the autumn survey the Public Opinion Research Centre gave all respondents a question that at eleven-point scale measures the left-right political orientation: "In politics, people sometimes talk about right and left. Where would you place yourself ranked on this scale?"
23.9% of citizens place themselves to the left of the centre, 40.7% to the right and 25.7% to the centre.
Since 2013 till 2020, the share of the left was steadily declining from its historical high of more than two-fifths to a historical low below one-quarter, where it has stabilized, and within the last year it is mildly increasing. The representation of the right has been growing with certain breaks in the last ten years but last surveys indicate possible turn in trend towards decline.
