Attitude towards affairs in political and public life

In March survey 2007, CVVM SOÚ AV ČR asked Czech citizens the question concerning political and public affairs. Most people agree with the statement that public should be informed about public and political affairs (95 %). Most Czech public also share an opinion that (86 %) that it is very difficult to know a lot about these situations. Almost same number of Czechs (84 %) think that a lot of scandals are dissimulated.

Moreover four fifths of Czech people (79 %) say that „public affairs cause us the shame in face of the world“, while on the other side 77 % of people expresed their opinion that these situations belong to life“. Problems of public life are supposed to be „affairs performed as a squaring accounts“ by two thirds of people though a same number of Czech citizens say that „such affairs have no effect“. Almost three fifths of Czechs agree with statement that public affairs are magnified by journalists“ and finally the statement „affairs solve the real problems“ was supported by lowest number of respondents (28 %).

Same question was used in a survey in year 2002. In comparism to year 2002 the affirmative answers with statements :„public affairs cause us the shame in face of the world“ and „a lot of scandals are dissimulated“ have increased. On contrary lower number of Czechs agreed with statement: „affairs solve the real problems“.
