Public opinion on performance of president Vaclav Klaus

In its regular survey in January 2010 the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the questions about the Vaclav Klaus' presidency. Most Czechs think president Klaus is good in taking care of dignity and respect of his office (75 %) and he fulfills his constitutional functions (73 %). Majority of Czech population supposes president Vaclav Klaus is an autority for people (62 %) and represents the Czech Republic in foreign countries good (63 %).

More critic are Czechs to the president‘s influence on political events in the Czech Republic, only 47 % find it „very good“ or „somewhat good“. Also the president's contact with citizens and his awareness of their problems is perceived rather bad, only 37 % of people think president's performance in this particular area is good.
