In January 2014 CVVM investigated, how Czech citizens evaluate material living conditions of their households and economic situation in the Czech Republic. During January and February 2014 comparable surveys on this theme were carried out also in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

Opinion on the indebtment of citizens and the state - January 2014
In January 2014, CVVM asked questions concerning the topic of indebtment. We surveyed the opinion on the level of indebtment among the Czech citizens and on the level of indebtment of the Czech state. With regard to these two fields of indebtment, we also asked questions about how serious a problem the current level of indebtment poses to the Czech people.
Public Opinion on Acceptance of Loans and Debts - January 2014
In January 2014 Public Opinion Research Centre carried out a survey about debts and loans. In this press release are published attitudes of Czech citizens to debts of common people. In this text there are also published attitudes of Czechs to individual debts, e.g. acceptability of loans for real estate, education, consumption, car, holidays or for starting a business. Another question was focused on importance of financial resources for unexpected expenses and difficulties with the repayment of debts.

Inflation And Real Income Of Households In View Of Public - January 2014
Three fifths (60%) of people believe that for the income of their household they can buy or pay less than a year ago, 34% believe that the real income of their households is about the same as a year before, and only 5% of respondents said that their real income during the last year has increased.
Opinion on Foreign Exchange Interventions of the Czech National Bank
On 7th November 2013, the Czech National Bank decided to intervene on the foreign currency market, what resulted in weakening of exchange rate of koruna to euro. In its January survey, CVVM investigated, what is the opinion of Czech citizens to this measure and its consequences. We asked, to what extend citizens understand the weakening of koruna to euro and to what extent they agree with it. We were further interested in knowing, if this measure is going to influence citizens’ willingness to safe money or to buy goods and what is expected impact of this measure to the economic development of the Czech Republic and to the living standard of respondent’s household. Approximately one tenth of the Czechs (12 %) agree with the weakening of koruna to euro. In comparison with previous period, the trust toward the Czech National Bank declined considerably and it amounts to 31 % now.
