Czech Public on Global Environmental Problems - May 2013

Within its May survey, Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the environment. The survey also investigated how Czech citizens evaluate seriousness of some problems related to global environment.

As a most serious problems were marked the cumulation of garbage (93% „very + quite important problem“), pollution of drinking water (93%), lack of drinking water (88%) and disappearance of rain forests (88%). As a serious problem 85% of Czechs see also running out of resources of raw materials, 82% the loss of species, 81% pollution of agricultural land, 74% the overpopulation, 61% global warming, 60% production of genetically modified food, and 48% the operation of nuclear power plants.
