Public relationship to other nations and nationalities

In February survey CVVM was interested in relationships of public to other nations and nationalities.In survey there were probed relationships of Czech to nationalities living in this country and attitudes of czech citizens to nationalities in general. Respondents marked their relationship to separeted nations and nationalities by mark 1 – 7, very sympathetic nation. 7- very non-sympathetic. From the nationalities living in this country, we have the best relations with citizens of the Czech nationality and Slovaks.

Czechs also find likeable Poles and Germans. Citizens have an average relationship to Jews. On the other hand, we think that Vietnameses, Russians, Ukrainians and citizens from Balkan states are least likeable, and our worst relation is with Romanies.

In a survey we questionated citizens about their relationships in general,they could choose from 24 nationalities. When evaluating our relations with nationalities in general, first place was occupied by Czechs (1,7) and Slovaks, French, Swedes, English and Poles, Austrians,Greeks and Hungarians( 2,0-3,0)A little less likeable Czech find Japanese, Americans, Indians, German, Lithuanian, Israelis, Russians and Serbians(3.1-4.0). Czechs find below average likeable Chinese, Ukrainians,Kurds Turks,Afghans, Iraqis, and Palestinians(4,1-4,7).
