Roma and coexistence with them through the eyes of the Czech public – August 2025

Three-fifths (61%) of respondents rate coexistence with Roma as poor, with 12% rating it as very poor, while about one-third of citizens (34%) view it positively.
Stereotypical views of the Roma population exist to a certain extent, but they are not particularly pronounced. These views are not conditioned by the socio-demographics of respondents, but are related to the (negative) assessment of coexistence between Roma and the majority population.
Opinions on Roma issues do not differ according to age or education, and are partly conditioned by electoral preferences, but with the exception of SPD voters, the differences are in the order of a few percent.

Two-fifths of respondents consider the government's solution to the Roma issue to be satisfactory. A similar proportion of respondents consider it unsatisfactory. Local governments are rated better in this regard, with 43% rating them as satisfactory and 26% as unsatisfactory.
