In a survey conducted during May and June 2025 at the Our Society Probability Panel, the Centre for Public Opinion Research examined the interest and engagement of Czech citizens in politics and public life. This report summarizes respondents' general interest in current political events in the Czech Republic, their level of engagement in politics-related activities, and their level of political engagement according to individual organizations and associations.
More than half of respondents (57%) said they were interested in the current political situation in the Czech Republic. In contrast, approximately two-fifths (43%) said they were not very interested or not interested at all in czech politics.
The variable that proves to be very significant in the distribution of attitudes of interest and disinterest in the political situation in the Czech Republic is age, which shows significant differences across individual categories.
More than three-fifths (67%) of respondents said they often or occasionally "follow political news in the media," while nearly half (49%) said they "discuss political events with friends."
Due to a change in the CVVM survey methodology, the results of the present survey are not directly comparable to the results of previous surveys. More information about the new methodology can be found in this press release.
