Evaluation of Activity of Ministries - June 2025

In June 2025, the Public Opinion Research Center of the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences included a question in its regular survey conducted by the Our Society probability panel, in which respondents rated the performance of individual ministries, the Office of the Government, and the Office of the President of the Republic over the past twelve months on a scale corresponding to school grades.

The evaluation of government agencies' performance over the past twelve months was, in most cases, average or worse than a "C." The three lowest-rated institutions would even receive a "B-."

The best ratings of all agencies were given to the Office of the President of the Republic, which achieved an average score of 2.75, and the Ministry of Culture, with an average score of 2.78. The Office of the President of the Republic also won in terms of the proportion of "1s" awarded.

The worst ratings were given to the Ministry of Justice (average rating 3.6) and the Ministry of Finance (3.65). A quarter of citizens gave them a "five", specifically 24% to the Ministry of Finance and 26% to the Ministry of Justice.

The most contradictory ratings were given to the Office of the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Due to a change in the CVVM survey methodology, the results of the present survey are not directly comparable to the results of previous surveys. More information about the new methodology can be found in this press release.
