In March 2009 CVVM used some questions focused on public tolerance to some groups of people. Czechs were shown a list of 14 groups of people and they had to say, whether they would not want these people as their neighbours. Negative attitude to neighbourhood of four groups was expressed by Czech people. These groups consist of drug addicts, 85 % of Czech would not want them to be their neighbours. Four fifths of Czech citizens (79 %) would not like to live close to people with criminal past and 78 % of Czechs would not want alcoholics in their neighbourhood.

In March survey CVVM investigated Czech public's views with regard to foreigners who live in the long term or permanently in Czech Republic. 78 % of Czechs think that incomers should have had the right to stay here in the long term under some conditions, 7 % would support this right with no restricting conditions and 11 % said that foreigners should not have any right to stay in the long term in Czech Republic.

As a part of March survey made by CVVM there were some questions about public attitudes to foreigners. Majorty (61 %) claimed that foreigners living in Czech republic should become conformed to czech cultural habits as much as possible. Another 35 % of informants said that foreigners should adapt to czech cultural habits just in some aspects. And 3 % said that foreigners should be allowed to live according to their habits.

In december survey CVVM focused on people's fears. Two thirds of informants admitted that they were afraid of something. The most frequent were a fear of unemployment (32 %), a disease (23 %) and fall of living standard (17 %).

In December survey the CVVM focused on Czech relationship to other nations and nationalities. Respondents were shown a list with 24 nationalities and they were asked to evaluate these nationalities with marks from 1 to 7 according to their sympathies for these nationalities (1 – very sympathetic and 7-very unsympathetic). Respondents find Czechs as the most sympathetic nation (on average 1,8).

May survey of CVVM SOÚ AV ČR focused on the matter of values and their importance for Czech people.

In May survey Public Opinion Research Center focused on public opinions of women´s right to decide herself to end her pregnancy. Within the survey people also have been expressing their sentiment about acceptability or unacceptability of euthanasia. As a part of this press information there were answers sorted according to socio-demographic indicators and table with data from previous surveys.

In May survey CVVM focused on public opinions of rights of gays and lesbians such as right to get married, right for registered partnership and right for children adoption. As a part of this press information there were answers sorted according to socio-demographic indicators and according to answer on a question whether a respondent knows a gay or a lesbian personally.

April survey of CVVM focused on public attitude and public relationships between Czech population and Romany minority. Survey showed that approximately four fiths of Czech citizens (79 %) see living together of Romany and non-Romany population as problematic.

In March survey CVVM focused on problems of life together of Czechs. Respondents were given a list which contained 14 different groups of people and they had to say, whether they would not want these people as neighbours. Most Czech citizens do not want to live near by drug addict (89 %), alcoholics (83 %) and persons with criminal pastness (78 %). Then we probed how Czech society is according to obtained opinions tolerant to selected groups of people.
