Public Opinion on Pension Reform
In the November research CVVM focused on the views of citizens on the pension system and pension reform. This press release presents the views of the Czech public on the possible crisis of the pension system and the need to reform the current system. It was also investigated to what extent Czech people are watching the debate on pension reform, and they were asked knowledge questions about certain aspects related to the pensions and social insurance.

In November 2010 CVVM focused on the views of citizens on the pension system and pension reform. Respondents were asked whether they concern for their financial situation in retirement age, and whether the state paid pensions can secure them social welfare. In November 2010 the Public Opinion Research Centre survey has focused extensively on issues of social policy. The survey examined some more general issues like a question, what should be the role of the state and what the role of citizens in social security, whether it should be a strictly targeted system, and whether the social security system in our country is too generous or too weak. People were asked also, how much they think the government cares about the social situation of citizens, and how much the social security system in Czech Republic is abused by its beneficiaries.
Public Opinion on the Austerity Program of the Government
In October 2010 the regular CVVM survey included questions related to austerity program of the government. Respondents should have expressed their opinion on the need for economic changes and declared their awareness of the austerity measures which the government was preparing. People also should have expressed agreement or disagreement with those measures. The CVVM poll asked Czechs to say, whether the impact of the measures will be distributed righteously in the Czech society and how forthcoming changes in the state budget will affect selected areas of life.
