Czech citizens´ attitude to rights of homosexual couples

In May survey CVVM focused on public opinions of rights of gays and lesbians such as right to get married, right for registered partnership and right for children adoption. As a part of this press information there were answers sorted according to socio-demographic indicators and according to answer on a question whether a respondent knows a gay or a lesbian personally.

Citizens about foreigners in the Czech Republic II.

As a part of May survey realized by CVVM SOÚ, v.v.i. there were some questions asking Czech public about their attitude to foreigners and nationalities living in the Czech Republic. CVVM investigated how respondents agree with different reasons concerning acceptance of immigrants and they were questioned about their attitude to employment of foreigners. Addressed citizens were also asked to evaluate their relationship with some nationalities that have strong representation in the Czech Republic.

Public on U.S. Anti-Missile Radar Base in Czech Republic.

May survey of CVVM followed two questions related to the plan to locate U.S. anti-missile radar in Czech Republic. The survey investigated Czech public's attitudes to this plan as well as to eventual referendum on this matter. The report contains main results of analysis of sociodemographic differences and time comparison with previous surveys of these questions.

Popularity of top politicians

In May 2007 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR investigated whether respondents trust to selected top politicians. They were given a list with 25 names of top politicians. In a survey there were included names of membres of Parliament, president, chairmen of Senate and Chamber of Deputies, leaders of political parties in Parliament, ombudsman and chief of Constitutional Court.

In May survey CVVM investigated public opinion of number of foreigners living in the Czech Republic and whether foreigners should have chance to live in this country in the long term and how they should accustom to our living conditions. As a part of the press information there is a list of answers sorted according to socio-demographic characteristics of population sample and according to answers of a question whether a respondent knows any foreigner personally.

Confidence in Constitutional Institutions and Satisfaction with Political Situation in May 2007

Within the May survey realized by CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i. respondents were questioned about their confidence in constitutional institutions. This question is used to ask about trust to both Chambers of Parliament, Government, president, Regional and Local Councils.

As a part of our regular surveys there is a question about satisfaction with current political situation in the Czech Republic.

Regular surveys focused on public trust to constitutional institutions and on satisfaction with political situation help to monitor development of public attitudes in the long-term.

Party Preferences and Voting Model in May 2007

In May survey CVVM investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information : Party preference and a model of voting behaviour.

Party preferences give us information about public sympathy with political Parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not knot who to vote for.

What Is Morally Acceptable For Us And What Is Not?

Within the March survey people have been expressing their sentiment about moral acceptability or unacceptability of some kinds of human actions and behaviour. The survey included 25 items representing different deeds which the respondents evaluated within the ten-point scale where 1 meant "never acceptable" and 10 "always acceptable".

Citizens´ satisfaction with living conditions close to their home

Within April survey CVVM investigated how respondents are satisfied with living conditions close to their home. Respondents were also asked to evaluate following living conditions close to their home: cleaning of the streets; waste disposal; gas, electricity and water installation and canalization; road conditions; security; job opportunity; level of wages in this area, level of schools and of health care; level of shops and services, environment, cultural and sport opportunities, places where to relax; chance to have a meal for reasonable prices, and good system of public transport.

As a part of March CVVM survey there was a question investigating citizens' trust to Courts, Police, Army, Media, Labour Unions and Churches. The press information covers also a longterm development of trust to these public institutions since 1993.

Czechs about their earnings and satisfying of life necessaries

In April survey CVVM investigated subjective opinions of Czechs about living standard of their households. First questions were focused on objective evaluation of this topic, respondents were asked to say whether they suppose their household to be rich or poor and whether they had problems to live on from their salaries and whether their household was in financial crisis last year. Following question was used to investigate whether it is difficult to meet some life requirements such as foodstuff, clothes and shoes, housing, water and energy, furniture, common non-food products, cultural and sport activities, health care and education.
