Attitudes of citizens to the presidential office

According to the January survey of CVVM, 61 % of the Czech public prefer president to be elected by all voters, 16 % agree with the current system, where the presidential election is made by the parliament, 13 % would welcome the possibility to let a broader assembly of electors to decide about the head of the state.

Public opinion on performance of president Vaclav Klaus

In its regular survey in January 2012 the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the questions about the Vaclav Klaus' presidency. Most Czechs think president Klaus is good in taking care of dignity and respect of his office (70 %) and he fulfills his constitutional functions (73 %). Majority of Czech population supposes president Vaclav Klaus is an autority for people (57 %) and represents the Czech Republic in foreign countries good (58 %).

Evaluation of trends in selected areas of public life in 2011

In December 2011 Public Opinion Research Centre carried out a survey about the situation in selected areas of public life in the year 2011. The Czech citizens evaluated how the situation developed in these areas and negative evaluation prevailed in most of them, for example, in unemployment, social security, corruption, public finances, economic crime, standard of living, healthcare, education and interpersonal relationships. The best evaluated area was the bid of goods and services.
