Urgency of some problems out of citizen point of view - February 2012

In February this year, respondents of the Public Opinion Research Centre evaluated the urgency of solve in some areas of public life. The most urgent problem is supposed to be corruption and 80 % of respondents supposed the sollution of corruption to be very urgent, 15 % rather urgent.

Citizens on the political system in the Czech Republic - February 2012

In its February survey, CVVM focused on opinions towards the political system in the Czech Republic. Questions in the survey concerned the level of satisfaction with democracy, the evaluation of democracy as a form of government, respect to human rights, coequality and fairness in treating people and the evaluation of the politic system development since 1989. Current data are compared with the data on the same topic collected in previous surveys.

Evaluation of Petr Nečas's Cabinet - February 2012

In February survey, CVVM focused on evaluation of Petr Nečas's government. 28 % of Czechs are satisfied with the person of Prime Minister, 65 % are dissatisfied, 16 % are satisfied with government's performance and 79 % are not. Also government's program (28 %/59 %) as well as communication with public (17 %/77 %) is evaluated predominantly negatively. 83 % of respondents see negatively also a personal composition of Nečas's government, 12 % expressed opposite feeling in this matter.

Attitudes of citizens to the presidential office

According to the January survey of CVVM, 61 % of the Czech public prefer president to be elected by all voters, 16 % agree with the current system, where the presidential election is made by the parliament, 13 % would welcome the possibility to let a broader assembly of electors to decide about the head of the state.

Public opinion on performance of president Vaclav Klaus

In its regular survey in January 2012 the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the questions about the Vaclav Klaus' presidency. Most Czechs think president Klaus is good in taking care of dignity and respect of his office (70 %) and he fulfills his constitutional functions (73 %). Majority of Czech population supposes president Vaclav Klaus is an autority for people (57 %) and represents the Czech Republic in foreign countries good (58 %).
