The situation in selected areas of public life in the year 2012.

In December 2012 Public Opinion Research Centre carried out a survey about the situation in selected areas of public life in the year 2012. The Czech citizens evaluated how the situation developed in these areas and negative evaluation prevailed in most of them, for example, in unemployment, social security, corruption, public finances, economic crime, standard of living, healthcare, education and interpersonal relationships. The best evaluated area was the bid of goods and services.

Public opinion on health care and health care system - December 2012

In December 2012, Public Opinion Research Centre enquired about health care and health care system. We were interested in satisfaction of citizens with health care system in the Czech Republic and public opinion on issues in specific areas of the health care system. 32 % of citizens are satisfied with health care, while 33 % are unsatisfied.

Inflation And Real Income Of Households In View Of Public - January 2013

Two thirds (68%) of people believe that for the income of their household they can buy or pay less than a year ago, 26% believe that the real income of their households is about the same as a year before, and only 4% of respondents said that their real income during the last year has increased.

Popularity of Party Representatives

In January 2013 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR investigated whether respondents trust to selected  politicians. They were given a list with 29 names of top politicians who represent political parties present in Chamber of Deputies.

Public Opinion on the Pension System and its Reform - December 2012

December’s survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic. This press release presents a more comprehensive analysis of what stand people take against the current pension system and the possibility of its reform. 57 % of respondents express opinion that the current pension system needs change. About one third of Czechs (33 %) approves the introduction of the second pillar of the pension system. At the same time, only 17 % of respondents agree with the current form of the pension reform.

Confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation in January 2013

In January 2013 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to Chambers of Parliament, Government, President, Local and Regional Councils.

According to the January survey of CVVM, 69% of people evaluate the current economic situation in the Czech Republic as bad, 25% view it as neither good nor bad and 5% consider it to be good.

In the December survey Public Opinion Research Centre of the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic posed to all respondents a question: "How satisfied are you with your life? Are you very satisfied, rather satisfied, neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, rather dissatisfied, very dissatisfied?"

Czechs and Pension Savings - December 2012

December’s survey of CVVM comprised a bloc of questions concerning public opinion on the pension system in the Czech Republic and its possible change. We asked a selected part of our respondents that are not yet retired, whether they use any form of savings or investments to put money aside for their retirement, whether they fear they might not be sufficiently secured when retired, and what are their expectations regarding the sufficiency of pensions paid by the state. 81 % of respondents assume that the state pension will not provide them with sufficient financial resources. On the other hand, only 56 % of people have their independent savings or investment plan to secure them for the retirement.
