The change of former political regime

In October 2009 CVVM investigated on public attitudes towards former communist regime. Only 15 % of respondents consider former communist regime to be good and on the contrary 80 % of respondents is against hypothetical return of communism in the Czech Republic.

Public opinion on extremist political parties

In September 2009 CVVM investigated on the issue of extremism in politics. Respondents should name up to two political parties which are according to their opinion supposed to be extremist.

Majority named ultra-right wing parties and subjects as an extremist ones and only 10 % of respondents mentioned left wing Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM). So the percentage of respondents who mentioned KSCM dropped radically from 25 % in March 1999 to current 10 %.

Confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation in September 2009

In September 2009 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to Chambers of Parliament, Government, President, Local and Regional Councils.

As a part of the CVVM surveys there is a question about public satisfaction with current political situation in the Czech Republic.

CVVM, Institute of Sociology AS CR, v.v.i. in its September survey classified the block of questions, mapping views of respondents to KSČM. Some of the questions have been asked repeatedly - first introduced into the investigation included ten years ago.

Czechs and their opinion on quality of school education

In September 2009, CVVM carried out an opinion poll on how Czech citizens evaluate the quality of education on all school levels. Part of the press release is also comparison of current results with findings from previous surveys. Then Czechs should have evaluated, which from the following characteristics - knowledge, independence, self-confidence, orientation in society, discipline, moral values, ability to work in a team, communication skills, creativity - are best evolved by particular types of schools.

What is educational background influenced by?

In September survey more than a two thirds of respondents expressed their opinion that everybody has a chance to get such education according to his or her abilities. Then respondents had to answer a question, what circumstances and various facts influence educational background. Respondents often suppose human abilities and diligence to be important, when trying to get higher education. In other part of survey respondents had to talk about their own educational background.

Popularity of Top Politicians

In September 2009 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR investigated whether respondents trust to selected top politicians. They were given a list with 28 names of top politicians including president, chairmen of Senate and Chamber of Deputies, members of the government, leaders of political parties in Parliament, ombudsman and chief of Constitutional Court.
