Confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation in June 2021

In June 2021 within the regular survey the Public Opinion Research Centre questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to the Chambers of Parliament, the President, the Government, and Local and Regional Councils.

29% of Czechs trust the president, 28% trust the government.

Likely voter model in June 2021

In a survey conducted by Public Opinion Research Centre in June 2021, we investigated how people trust political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to the Chamber of Deputies. In the press release, there are two different types of information: the likely voter model and the party preferences.

The likely voter model indicates the anticipated result of hypothetical elections to the Chamber of Deputies at the time of conducting the survey.

The party preferences give us information about public sympathy for political parties in the group of citizens who have voting right, and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections, or they do not know who to vote for.

The New Coronavirus - concerns, media and informations - Our Society - April 2021

In connection with the spread of the new type of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, approximately four-fifths of Czech citizens over the age of 18 are concerned about the health of their loved ones (81%), health care restrictions outside COVID-19 (80%), almost three-fifths of insufficient hospital capacity ( 57%), about half of their health (52%) and slightly more than a fifth of the collapse of supply (21%).

Evaluation of State Response to COVID-19 Epidemic - Our Society - Special - April 2021

Only a relative majority of Czech citizens, at a level of just over two-fifths, evaluate what the Czech state has done against the spread of coronavirus as appropriate, and a little more than a third consider measures to support the economy to be appropriate.

Compared to February 2021, the assessment of the state's response to the pandemic has imroved significantly, when assessing the effectiveness of measures against the spread of coronavirus, but this assessment still remains much worse than it was back in December 2020.

Czech Public about Vaccination against COVID-19 - Our Society - Special - April 2021

In April Public Opinion Research Centre focused on vaccination against COVID-19. Approximately three-fifths of respondents (59%) expressed willingness to be vaccinated against COVID-19. About a quarter (26 %) of respondents took a negative attitude towards vaccination against COVID-19. One tenth (10 %) stated they were already vaccinated.

Evaluation of reaction of state and its institutions to COVID-19 epidemic and compliance with measures against the spread of coronavirus - Our society - special - April 2021

In connection with the spread of coronavirus, the Czech public evaluates the most positively the work of medics, the Fire Rescue Service, the army and the police, while it is the most critical is to the work of the Government of the Czech Republic. The vast majority of the Czech public believes that compliance with existing measures against the spread of coronavirus should be monitored (70%), while only a quarter (25%) have the opposite opinion.

COVID-19, Financial Situation of Households and Distance Learning - Our Society - Special - April 2021

Less than two thirds of respondents (64%) said that their household incomes remained the same at the time of COVID, more than a quarter (27%) said they had fallen, of which 9% said significantly. In 8% of households, income increased. The resulting findings do not change significantly during the pandemic.

The New Coronavirus - Interest and Expectation of the Czech Public - Our Society - April 2021

In its research, the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the coronavirus crisis and citizens' experiences with it. In April more than four-fifths (82%) of Czech citizens over the age of 18 were interested in the situation regarding the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Almost two-fifths (37%) of respondents said they had suspected of having COVID-19, based on symptoms.

The New Coronavirus - concerns, media, information and narratives - Our Society - February 2021

In connection with the spread of a new type of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, more than four-fifths of Czech citizens over the age of 18 fear limited health care restrictions for patients with diseases other than COVID-19 (85%), deteriorating economic situation in the Czech Republic (83%) and the health of their loved ones (81%). Compared to the last survey in December 2020, citizens' concerns about the insufficient capacity of hospitals, which were feared by approximately two-thirds (67%) of the population in February, have risen significantly, by twenty percentage points.
