Czech citizens on the Czech Republic’s membership in NATO – February 2020

In February 2020 Public Opinion Research Centre carried out a survey about NATO. Within the project were examined satisfaction with membership in NATO. 58% of Czech citizens are satisfied with the Czech Republic's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance, almost a quarter (24%) is dissatisfied.

Public Views on the Possibility to Influence the Legislative Process - February 2020

As a part of February survey there were some questions focused on possibilities of citizens to influence changes in laws.

Respondents were evaluating effectiveness of some methods to achieve this goal like work in a political party, petitions, demonstrations, work in labour unions, litigation, activity in a social network, letters to media, letters to deputies, violent actions, work in a church, hunger-strike, work in a civic association, strike, and blockade.

Interest in Politics and Views on the Participation of Citizens in Decision-Making – February 2020

In February 2020, the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on interest of Czech citizens in politics generally, politics of the Czech Republic and European Union and worldwide politics, and also examined views on the involvement of citizens in decision-making processes.

51% of Czechs are interested in domestic politics, 42% are interested in politics generally, 38% are interested in worldwide politics, and 35% are interested in EU politics. Citizens should make decisions on important local issues. This view is supported by 75% of interviewed. On the other hand, decisions on important laws and international treaties should be made by elected politicians. This view is supported by 76% of citizens in the case of laws and 83% in the case of international treaties.

Evaluation of Andrej Babis' Cabinet - February 2020

In February survey, the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on evaluation of Andrej Babis' government.

42% of Czechs are satisfied with the person of Prime Minister, 52% are dissatisfied, 44% are satisfied with government's performance and 51% are not.
Government's program 48% of Czechs evaluate positively, 37% hold the opposite stance.

Communication with public is seen positively by 47% of Czechs, 46% evaluate it negatively.

Personal composition of Babis' government (36% satisfied / 56% dissatisfied) is area in which we found the most critical evaluation of public.

Confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation in February 2020

In February 2020 within the regular survey the Public Opinion Research Centre questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to the Chambers of Parliament, the President, the Government, and Local and Regional Councils.

Public Opinion on Acceptability of Loans and Debts - January 2020

In January 2020 Public Opinion Research Centre carried out a survey about debts and loans. In this press release are published attitudes of Czech citizens to debts of common people. In this text there are also published attitudes of Czechs to individual debts, e.g. acceptability of loans for real estate, education, consumption, car, holidays or for starting a business. Another question was focused on importance of financial resources for unexpected expenses and difficulties with the repayment of debts.

Opinion on the Indebtment of Citizens and the State - January 2020

In January 2020, the Public Opinion Research Centre investigated views on the problem of indebtment. We surveyed the opinion on the level of indebtment among the Czech citizens and on the level of indebtment of the Czech state. Inflation And Real Income Of Households In View Of Public - January 2020

In the January 2020 survey the Public Opinion Research Centre examined three questions related to Inflation And Real Income Of Households.

44 % of people believe that for the income of their household they can buy or pay less than a year ago, 43 % believe that the real income of their households is about the same as a year before, and 12% of respondents said that their real income during the last year has increased.

47% of Czech citizens consider current inflation to be acceptable, 38% of people share the opposite opinion.

64% of Czechs expect that this year they will be able to buy less goods and pay less services for the same amount of money than the last year.
