In the opinion poll carried out in March 2017 by the Public Opinion Research Centre, questions regarding the current situation in Ukraine were included. More specifically, the questionnaire asked surveyors about their concerns for the situation in Ukraine, and their perception of it as a security threat to the Czech Republic, Europe, and the World. The same survey from March 2017 also implemented analogous questions about the so-called Islamic State (IS), and the previous survey from February 2017 included parallel questions about the refugees (regarding the European migrant crisis). The listed events are also included in the press release.

In January 2017 Public Opinion Research Centre investigated, how Czech citizens evaluate material living conditions of their households and economic situation in the Czech Republic. During January 2017 comparable surveys on this theme were carried out also in Poland and Hungary, and in the end of November 2017 also in Slovakia.

Part of Public Opinion Research Centre survey in February were several questions concerning respondents' opinions on the functioning of democracy in the Czech Republic, the general attitudes towards democracy and respect for human rights in our country.

In February 2017 Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to accepting refugees from countries affected by military conflicts. Questions focused mainly on opinion towards accepting refugees from concrete regions (Ukraine, Middle East and North Africa), concern with the current situation around refugees and perception of the situation as a security threat. In March survey Public Opinion Research Centre investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information: Party preference and a model of voting behaviour.

In February of this year, respondents of the Public Opinion Research Centre evaluated the urgency of solving in some areas of public life. The most urgent problems are supposed to be immigration and corruption.

In February 2017 Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to family. Respondents commented on specific set of statements connected to cohesion of partners, marriage, divorces and parenthood in general.

In the February survey the Public Opinion Research Centre of the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic posed to all respondents a question: "How satisfied are you with your life? Are you very satisfied, rather satisfied, neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, rather dissatisfied, very dissatisfied?"

In February 2017, the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on interest of Czech citizens in politics generally, politics of the Czech Republic and European Union and worldwide politics, and also examined views on the involvement of citizens in decision-making processes.

In its regular February survey Public Opinion Research Centre further examined whether people think that politicians are interested in the views of citizens, and whether in the opinion of the Czech public, people have certain opportunities to influence the public sphere.

Regarding the interest of politicians in the views of citizens, the vast majority (82%) of the Czech public thinks that only minority of Czech politicians is interested in people's opinion. 14% of the population believe that in the views of citizens is interested none of Czech elected politicians.

Within the possibilities to influence the public sphere has occurred shift in a positive direction in all researched spheres, which is the most evident in the area of ​​solving problems in respondents’ village or town.

Also assessing the potential to influence public sphere is in all analyzed aspects related to the assessment of living standards of respondent's household, while people with good living standards are more likely to feel they can influence public sphere.
