Attitude of Czech Public to Accepting of Refugees in May 2016

In May 2016 Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to accepting refugees from countries affected by military conflicts. Questions focused mainly on opinion towards accepting refugees from concrete regions (Ukraine, Middle East and North Africa), concern with the current situation around refugees and perception of the situation as a security threat. Czech Public on Global Environmental Problems – May 2016

In May within the regular research the Centre for Public Opinion Research focused on the environment. Representatives of the Czech population answered questions on particular environmental phenomena in the sense of their problematic character. As the most serious problems were stated the garbage cumulation (for 92 % “very” + “quite” serious problem), the drinking water pollution (92 %) and the drinking water deprivation (90 %).

According to the May survey of CVVM, 33% of people evaluate the current economic situation in the Czech Republic as good, 38% view it as neither good nor bad, and 27% consider it to be bad.

Evaluation of European Integration - April 2016

Part of Aprils’ survey of CVVM was the topic of European integration. Two batteries of questions were included into the survey. One focused on the view, whether the values of democracy, equality, cooperation, tolerance, justice and solidarity are applied in the European Union. The second one concerned the opinion on usefulness or harmfulness of European integration in the areas of economy, politics, culture, defence and ecology. Apart from these two batteries we also asked questions, whether respondents believe that integration of the European Union is in the interest of the Czech Republic and in their own personal interest.
