Shopping and consumption behaviour of Czech households and perceptions towards packaging materials - Potraviny 2024

In a special survey Potraviny (Food) 2024, the CVVM SOÚ AV ČR surveyed the opinions and attitudes of the Czech public towards food shopping. Respondents reported what activities and shopping habits their households have, how much they spend on food per month, and according to what criteria and where they shop. In the next part of the research we focused on environmental shopping behaviour, shopping without packaging or how relevant it is for Czech citizens to consider the environmental impact of food production.

Czech citizens on their possibilities to influence public events and on freedom of speech - April/May 2024

The Czech public mainly favorably evaluates the possibility to express themselves openly about problems and shortcomings in society, the possibility to influence the solution of local problems and the possibility to achieve their legitimate demands. The majority is skeptical about the possibility of influencing the solution of problems at the national level.

Beer in Czech society (2023)

The research project "Beer and Pubs in Czech society" has been implemented by the CVVM SOÚ AV ČR continuously since 2004. This text provides basic information on the trends about the share of beer consumers among the adult population of the Czech Republic and the quantity and frequency with which they drink beer, and also notes the position of non-alcoholic beer and its development in recent years.

Opinions on the Functioning of Democracy and Non-democratic Alternatives of the Political System - April/May 2024

Part of Public Opinion Research Centre survey in April and May were several questions concerning respondents' opinions on the functioning of democracy in the Czech Republic and non-democratic alternatives of political system.

More than half (55%) of respondents expressed satisfaction with the way democracy works in the Czech Republic, while more than two-fifths (43%) rated the functioning of democracy in our country critically.
