Public opinion on foreign nationals settling in the Czech Republic – March 2020

In March 2018 the Public Opinion Research Centre examined as a part of its survey the opinions of the Czech public on long-term or permanently residing foreigners in the Czech Republic.

Specifically, there were examined attitudes whether there are too many, appropriate amount, or too few foreigners living in the country, whether foreigners should have the right for the long-term residing in the country and whether the state should allow them to settle here permanently. There were also examined the reasons for the acceptance of immigrants and whether they should adapt to Czech customs.

Morality of Politicians Viewed by Public Opinion - March 2020

In the March survey CVVM enquired how strictly according to public should be judged morality of politicians and what criteria should be considered in their deliberations. CVVM also focused on attitudes of Czech citizens to disputes, problems and affairs which appear in our political and public life. In this case, respondents were presented with a list of statements with which they expressed their agreement or disagreement.

Happiness with the state of selected areas of public life – February 2020

In February 2020, citizens of the Czech Republic evaluated how satisfied they are with the situation in 29 selected areas of public life.

The best evaluated areas are the selection of goods and services (75% satisfied), culture (66%), unemployment (52%). The worst evaluated items are corruption (67% dissatisfied), economic crime (55%), and immigration (47%).

Public Opinion on the Role of Men and Women in Family - February 2020

In its February survey CVVM examined attitudes of Czech citizens to roles of men and women in family. According to the Czech public opinion should be the domain of men in a family doing common household repairs. Cooking and tidying up were considered as typical women's activities.

Likely voter model at the BEGINNING of March 2020

In a survey conducted by Public Opinion Research Centre in March 2020, we investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to the Chamber of Deputies. In the press release, there are two different types of information: the likely voter model and the party preferences.

The likely voter model indicates the anticipated result of hypothetical elections to the Chamber of Deputies in the time of conducting the survey.

The party preferences give us information about public sympathy for political parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not know who to vote for.

Czech citizens’ opinions on partnership, marriage and family – February 2020

In February Public Opinion Research Centre included a block of questions connected to partnership, marriage and family. Respondents commented on specific set of statements connected to cohesion of partners, marriage, divorces and parenthood in general. We also examined the views on the optimal number of children in a family and the ideal age for men and women to become parents.
