What is educational background influenced by?
In September survey more than a half of respondents expressed their opinion that everybody has a chance to get such education according to his or her abilities.
Then respondents had to answer a question, what circumstances and various facts influence educational background. Respondents often suppose human abilities and diligence to be important, when trying to get higher education.

Evaluation of current level and assets of education
In September CVVM also focused on evaluation of current level of school education, including primary and secondary schools and universities. All types of school education are positively evaluated by major part of respondents. In other part of survey respondents had to talk about their own educational background. Respondents think that education helped them to get general knowledge and professional qualification, when three quarters of respondents share this opinion.
Monitoring of News Coverage
According to June survey Czech citizens watch mostly news programmes on Czech Television and TV Nova. A half of respondents think these news programmes, which they watch regularly, inform us about important events. A third of repondents watch news programmes every day.
Earth-friendly behaviour
May survey contained a topic – environment. More than four fifths of respondents agreed that every single attempt to save the environment is important.
37% of respondents take always dangerous waste to special enchosen places. And other 35 % does it often. Same number of respondents sort domestic waste (33% always, 42 % often). A third of respondents take part in activities organized under companies for environment protection such as working groups and revitalisation of nature.
Public opinion about environment
In May survey most of respondents were satisfied with condition of the environment close to their home and in Czech Republic.
Wedding or not
The April results of CVVM survey shows that single women are more decided to get married in future than single men.
81 % of single women and 64 % of single men would like to get married in the future.
The most frequently named reasons for getting married were “children” (50 %) and the opinion that "two is better than one” (30 %), a fifth of respondents consider taking marriage vows...
Corruption
In April survey CVVM interogated respondents with question„ Tell us, please, which of following institutions and areas of public life are mostly affected by corruption ?“ Mark it as at school, 1 means no corruption, 5 means high corruption.
Political Parties were supposed to be heavily affected by corruption, they were evaluated with mark 4 on average. Areas ,that were evaluated quite favourably - on average under mark 3, were Army (2,90), masmedia (2,81), system of education (2,61).
Public attitudes to Death penalty and public opinions about lowering of the age limit for criminal liability
In CVVM survey more than two thirds of czech citizens spoke up for existence of Death penalty, while only a quarter of citizens (27%) is against it. Most pensioners and people who do not confess any religion or church, skilled workpeople, ČSSD and KSČM followers support existence of Death penalty. The existence of Denalty penalty is less supported by students, university graduetes, churchpeople,ODS or KDU-ČSL followers.
Public opinions about foeticide and legitimatization of registered partnership
March survey confirmed tolerant attitude of czech public to foeticide. 7 out of 10 citizens think that a woman has right to decide herself to end her pregnancy. Support of law about registered partnership has drop a bit since 2003.
Public tolerance
Respondents were shown a list of groups of people and they had to choose which group they would not want to be their neighbours. Czech citizens refused these groups of people to be their neighbours : alcoholics (87%), drug addicts (87%), people with criminal past (77%), Romanians (75%). Other groups of people were supposed to be more or less acceptable.
A third of people said, they would want to live far from homosexuals (34%), emotional unbalanced people (32%),almost a fifth of public would not want people with different colour of skin (22%), foreigners living in Czech Republic (21%) to be their neighbours and 1 out of six respondents would not want rich people to be their neighbours, the unwanted people are also rich people (17%),politicians (16%).
